Greek police arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with the crime, based on a description given by the British woman.

The alleged victim arrived at a Greek police station in the north of the island in the early hours of Sunday morning and told officers she had just been raped.

She later identified the man brought in by police officers as her alleged attacker, who denied the accusations and said the sex had been consensual.

The 40-year-old is being held in custody as the alleged victim prepares to undergo a forensic examination to look for signs of rape, according to The Sun.

The woman, whose name has not been released for privacy reasons, was reportedly in a ‘bad condition’ when she approached officers at the police station yesterday morning.
