Video captures would-be beer thief slashing Bronx Walgreens worker

A would-be beer thief slashed a Bronx Walgreens worker on the arm when the suspect tried to bolt from the store, according to video and cops.

The suspect swiped the beverage from the store on Soundview Avenue near Noble Avenue in Soundview around 9:20 p.m. July 26, authorities said.

Footage released by cops late Monday shows the guard, a 54-year-old man, confronting the suspect as he approached the store’s sliding exit doors — and getting into a tug-of-war over the bag the culprit was using to carry the beer.

During the struggle, the suspect repeatedly slashed the guard’s arm but ultimately let go of the bag and fled.

The guard was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition with a severe cut on his arm.
