THIS is what your coffee choice says about YOU…

Well-travelled, funny or introverted? THIS is what your coffee choice says about YOU… as study shows how Brits’ favourite cuppa might say more about your personality than you realise

Most of us know not to speak to a coffee drinker before they have had their morning brew.

But it turns out that you should chat to a white Americano drinker if you want a straight talker or wax lyrical with a double espresso drinker for someone who is well-read.

A study of the nation’s coffee lovers has revealed that their favourite cuppa might say more about their personality than they realise.

People who think of themselves as sexy are most likely to be a fan of a mocha, with 20 per cent of those who reckon they have sex appeal saying their favourite coffee has a dash of chocolate.

But iced coffee drinkers are apparently the best lovers, with 24 per cent of them claiming to be good in bed and 12 per cent saying they are the ‘life and soul of the party’.

Meanwhile, those whose go-to beverage is a double espresso were the most likely to describe themselves as well travelled, well read and boasting a university degree.

The poll of 2,000 Brits, commissioned by fast food chain Dunkin’ Donuts UK, also discovered that 40 per cent of people who drink flavoured coffee, such as a hazelnut or caramel latte, describe themselves as funny.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the most moralistic Brits unsurprisingly drink a dairy-free choice, such as an oat or almond milk coffee.

Latte drinkers are most likely to be people pleasers, with their steamed-milk brew being voted the nation’s most popular coffee followed by the cappuccino and then the Americano.

The results also found the average coffee lover downs three cups of the brown stuff every day, with 7.54am emerging as the average time of the day we have our first cup.

Overall, 69 per cent of Brits agree that the first cup of the day is the best one, with 55 per cent saying they are too tired to function before they have had their first caffeine hit.

A routine-loving 63 per cent drink the same style coffee every day, with 66 per cent saying they could never give up their daily cup of Joe.

Dunkin’ Donuts said: ‘Coffee is a crucial part of so many of our daily routines, so it’s fascinating to see what our order subconsciously says about our personalities and interests.’
