Brit, 43, shot dead ‘in front of his eight-year-old son’ by wife who was ‘trying to frighten him’ after 'day of boozing' | The Sun

A BRIT dad was allegedly shot dead in front of his young son by his wife who claims she was trying to "frighten him".

Yacht salesman Christopher Benjamin Martin, 43, had been drinking all day with partner Maria Ixel Amador when he was killed, it's reported.

The dad died from a single bullet wound to his right shoulder after he and Amador reportedly got into a row at their apartment in Costa Rica.

According to local reports, the pair had been boozing all day when Christopher was shot with his eight-year-old son Marlin nearby.

Cops said Nicaraguan Amador, 36, admitted shooting Christopher during an argument “to frighten him".

A spokesman told local media: "The woman says she shot him only to frighten him, wounded him in the right shoulder and he died at the scene."

Christopher met his wife a decade ago and they had lived together inAlajuela since May, having moved from nearby Herradura.

Local media outlets claimed Amador had also stabbed Christopher during a row in the weeks before he was shot last Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene but Christopher could not saved.

Paramedic Mario Zuniga said: "On our arrival we confirmed that the man had a gunshot wound to the chest and no vital signs, that was when we called the police."
