Brave woman, 24, dies of cancer after being told her condition was curable
A brave 24-year-old died of cancer, despite being told just less than a year ago that her condition was curable.
Demi Morrison slipped away holding the hand of her boyfriend, Andrew Charleston, who refused to leave her side in her final days.
He had promised to stay by her side through her illness and was determined to keep his promise until the very end.
Less than a year ago, Demi's doctors hoped her cancer was curable.
But on Wednesday, just days after being told she still had months left, she died, leaving her family devastated.
Tributes have poured in from friends and family members in the days since, reports ChronicleLive.
Andrew, also 24, said: "Demi was the love of my life, my whole world, and more."
The pair went to Benfield School together. Andrew said he thought Demi was "stunning".
They had kept in touch, but it was only years later, after a night out that Andrew returned home and found Demi there waiting for him.
From that moment on, they were inseparable.

Andrew said: "We were basically together 24/7 until yesterday when god took my beautiful princess away from me.
"I have never experienced so much pain and hurt.
"It has broken me but I kept my promise to her to hold her hand until the very end and that's what I did.
"She took her last breath while I held her right hand and gently touching her head I told her to not give up yet.

"But she couldn't fight anymore. She had fought and fought and proved every doctor in the 14 days we spent in the hospital wrong. She is one in a million – I could never love anyone like I love Demi and that love will never die."
Demi was described by her loved ones as an "absolute character", and the "life and soul of the party", someone who put a smile on the face of everyone she met.
Childhood friend Lauren Bruce, who grew up with Demi in Byker, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, says the pair used to go camping together as children.
She said Demi's loss has robbed the world of a "special little lady" and has launched a GoFundMe page to help raise money to cover Demi's funeral costs.
Lauren wrote: "You were the funniest girl I'd ever met, the life and soul of the party – little cheeky Demi Morrison.
"You fought for so long. I hope you're at peace now beautiful."
Loved ones claim Demi's cancer, a sarcoma that initially started in her leg, was missed while she was staying in Scotland.
When she returned home, it was diagnosed and Demi underwent surgery.
Doctors had hoped she would beat the disease but three days before Christmas, Demi was told her cancer was terminal.
But just days ago, doctors discovered cancer had spread around her body and revised their prediction to just months.
Natalie Graham paid tribute to her "beautiful best friend".
"I will never forget the memories spent with you all these years, the tears, the parties, the fallouts, and the laughs we spent together," she said.
