Gov. Ron DeSantis will host a virtual town hall Tuesday, joining elected officials from both sides of the aisle to speak against antisemitism and hate.

The event was organized by seven Jewish federations, including those in Sarasota/Manatee, Orlando, Tampa, the Gulf Coast, Lee/Charlotte and greater Naples, among others. The groups say the virtual event comes in response to a recent surge in antisemitism.

More than 750 people have registered for the event, where they’ll learn how to identify and stop hate speech. Participants also will learn about meaningful policy changes and how to stand up against hate, organizers said.
