William must ‘fix Harry rift’ to avoid royals being ‘likened to Kardashians’

Prince William must heal the rift with his brother Prince Harry to avoid the royals being likened to the Kardashians, a royal commentator has claimed.

William and Harry have reportedly been at loggerheads since Harry took the decision to leave royal life with his wife Meghan Markle, after suggesting that he and his brother were “on different paths” during a documentary.

Until the Queen’s death, when Harry and William appeared to reconcile for a walkabout where they met mourners together, the warring brothers had only met once publicly to open a statue commemorating their late mother Princess Diana.

Now, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe has claimed that William must finally step up and address the rift for the sake of the Royal Family.

Speaking on this week’s episode of The Royal Beat podcast, he suggested: “William has just become the Prince of Wales, he’s going to be our King, and it doesn’t look good for him if he can’t sort out the issues with his brother.

“He wants a leadership role, William wants to wear the medals and the stuff on his shoulders, but he has to be a leader.”

While William has become a senior statesman since Harry’s departure, the wantaway prince has established his celebrity life in LA with Meghan, and the couple have signed up to various business ventures including a deal with Netflix.

The Sussexes are reportedly considering delaying the release of a Netflix documentary series until 2023 after the Queen’s death, but Duncan claimed that this may not avoid the damage that has been done to the royal brand by the couple’s new lifestyle.

“The Royal Family is being likened to the Kardashians in the way that Harry and Meghan are behaving,” he suggested.

“They’re being followed around by Netflix, they’re selling out all of their royal brand to the highest bidder…

“That doesn’t mean it’s William’s fault, but for goodness’ sake William, the onus is not on Harry.”

This comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared to have been demoted on the Royal Family’s official website, which has been rejigged to relegate the Sussexes to the second and third-lowest spots below other royals.
