THE Met Office has revealed the exact date temperatures will plunge – with a cold front bringing freezing air in just days.

Tomorrow the mercury will sink into single figures throughout the UK.

Before then, temperatures will stay around the average for this time of year.

It will be mostly cloudy and windy today, with rain and drizzle in northern parts and the west of Scotland.

There will be patches of sunshine elsewhere, before it clouds over tonight.

The evening will be damp, with strong winds blowing bands of rain southwards across Scotland.
