UFOs have been ‘interfering with’ nuclear systems, former Pentagon chief claims

The former head of the US government’s UFO research agency claims unidentified aircraft with capability far beyond any known military or civilian technology have 'interfered with' nuclear installations and even taken them offline in the past.

Luis Elizondo, who until 2017 was director of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), said: “We’ve had incidents where these UAPs have interfered and actually brought offline our nuclear capabilities”.

He says that these “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” seem to have a close affinity with water and are particularly interested in nuclear weapons.

"I think that there is certainly at this point enough data to demonstrate there is an interest in our nuclear technology, a potential to even interfere with that nuclear technology," he told the Washington Post.

He added whatever is behind the various UAP sightings, the technology is far beyond anything we currently have.

“The first is hypersonic velocity. The ability to change directions instantly,” Elizondo said.

“And when I say instantly, I mean human beings can withstand about 9 g forces or some of our best aircraft can withstand about 16 Gs. These things are doing 3-, 4-, 600 Gs in mid-flight.”

He added the high-speed manoeuvrability of the unidentified craft can’t be equalled by any current military aircraft. The UAPs have been observed to perform ninety-degree turns at hypersonic speeds.

The fastest-known military aeroplane, the USAF’s SR-71 Blackbird, can exceed Mach 3, over 2,000mph, but if its pilot wanted to make a turn at those speeds, "it takes roughly half the state of Ohio to do it”

When it comes to explaining UAPs, Elizondo adds, there were “really only three possibilities”.

They could either be a classified US military project, massively advanced technology from a hostile foreign power, or, he says, “something quite entirely different”.

Elizondo says that the US explanation has been more or less ruled out and there seemed little prospect of the anomalous aircraft being built by Russia either.

Pointing out that UFO sightings have been reported since the end of World War 2, he says it’s highly improbable that China would have been able to develop unprecedented technology in the early Fifties and then manage to keep it secret for over half a century.

Donald Trump’s former intelligence director John Ratcliffe said in March there are “a lot more sightings than have been made public”.

He said that objects “have been seen by navy or air force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery, that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain, movements that are hard to replicate, that we don’t have the technology for.”
