A "UFO" astounded passengers on a passing plane at 35,000 feet in the air – and the flying object even had an "aura" around it.

The mystery machine was seen travelling in a "perfectly straight" line above the clouds. It was a strange shape and seemingly black in colour, witnesses reported.

Passengers on a flight heading from Bogotá to Salento in Colombia were able to capture footage of the object which has been shared online and even went viral. The clip was posted to the YouTube channel Ensaladilla, showing a spacecraft in the shape of a traditional flying saucer. The middle of the UFO, or UAP as they are now formally called, had a wide middle and a thinner, domed top and thin bottom.

The clip was also shared to a Spanish forum called Forocoches, which got alien fans excited. UFO hunter The Hidden Underbelly 2.0 then shared the clip to his own page, The Sun reports.

He said: "This object seems to have the classic saucer shape and look how it’s just cruising along nonchalant. Now it makes you wonder that being this is in Colombia, there is a high activity of these objects. Could there be some localised base? Or is this some sort of government testing?"

Some people reckon the item could have been a drone – but Hidden Underbelly wasn't convinced. He argued: "Because you got to understand this plane has to be pretty high to be cruising. And it is above the clouds. Could a drone get this high? This has no other shape to it like a plane, a helicopter and in my opinion, this doesn’t even look like a drone."

He then asked others what they thought the strange thing could be, with one person pointing out that the lack of wobble is not dissimilar to how a balloon flies.

"It is flying PERFECTLY straight. This looks a lot like the saucers that have been seen over the years over Mexico and Mount Popo," they said.
