Shake Shack shootout sparks panic as man gunned down and bystanders flee

Police rushed to the scene of a shooting outside a Shake Shack restaurant inside a shopping centre, with footage showing the moment a man was gunned down.
Authorities with the Houston Police Department responded to the reported shooting at The Galleria in Houston, Texas, on Saturday afternoon.
According to officials, a person was shot in the leg near the Shake Shack restaurant inside the mall around 6.50 pm local time.
The victim, described only as a 28-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.
It is unclear how the shooting began but video footage apparently from the scene shows several cars parked chaotically as a group of young men gather.
The short clip shows what looks like two or three young men about to go toe to toe, before the lone male fires what looks like an automatic firearm.
The video cuts to a still of the victim surrounded by people tending to his injuries with the caption: "Damn, I hope buddy make it."
The suspect reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived. He was described only as a black male.
Anyone with information in this case was urged to contact the Houston Police Department.

The Galleria is an upscale mixed-use urban development and shopping mall located in the Uptown District of Houston, Texas.
"It’s sad what the Houston Galleria has become over the last 2 1/2 years," said a local after the incident.
One victim was transported to a local hospital, Houston Police confirmed.

A fight allegedly broke out in front of the mall's Shake Shack, resulting in a man shooting another man in the leg, according to KHOU11.
The victim is said to be in a stable condition.
The suspect remains on the loose. He allegedly fled in a grey sedan.
