Seven people shot inside casino as police scramble to detain gunman at scene

Seven people have been shot at Oneida Casino in Wisconsin after a gunman began firing on the property.

A spokesperson from the Casino's PR confirmed that the shooter is in custody and multiple people were injured.

The crime scene is still active as police try to work to clear out the casino, according to the update.

Multiple forces from various law enforcement agencies were also dispatched to the scene.

Dozens of police cars are outside the casino, off Highway 172 and across from Austin Straubel Airport, with the highway also blocked off at Packerland Drive.

One witness told Fox11 they arrived at the casino parking lot and saw people fleeing the building.

They rolled down the window to see what was going on and saw '50 to 60' police cars zoom in at the same time.

They then heard rapid gunshots and quickly left the area.

Footage from the scene taken by a witness shows people scrambling to get away and gunshots heard in the background.

Oneida Casino wrote on Twitter at 2.10am (GMT): "There is currently an active shooter situation at the Oneida Casino.

"Several law enforcement agencies are working to secure the location.

"Please do not go near the main casino on Hyw 172. We'll post information as it becomes available."

One potential witness inside the casino was tweeting from the back room where she barricaded the door with a chair.

She has spent an hour inside the room with another woman while waiting for police to deal with the incident.

They said they heard cops making announcements and heard yelling, and their husband was cleared from the slot area.

Oneida Casino later updated customers on social media to say all locations will be closed until further notice.
