Russian soldiers have appeared in a video complaining about the chaos and mismanagement of the Kremlin’s partial mobilisation. Hundreds of conscripts appear in the video, believed to have been taken in the Belgorod region, as a military rebellion takes hold in protest at the bundled management of Vladimir Putin’s top brass.

“So, we are now in the Belgorod region. We are about 500 people with weapons, but we are not assigned to any part.

“We have lived in absolutely terrible conditions for a week.

“Absolutely terrible, No material supply, no money for pleasure.”

They continued: “Nothing is on the even side. Now it is also unknown. Who? Where? Where is he going?

“To which part are we assigned? Weapons are on our hands but it is not registered on us.”

“Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Not a single machine gun is registered in our military.

“This is Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The relations are terrible with the officers.

“We don’t need anyone. Preparations are zero. We eat what we buy. We spent a lot of money to just eat.

“This is not about ammunition, we just brought armaments. We were given a combat kit, that is combat cartridges.”

German reporter Julian Röpcket shared the video on Twitter, commenting: “Un-f***ing-believable.

“Russia’s army is rebelling against its leadership even before Ukraine is – that’s how crappy the conditions are in terms of organization and supplies.

“If this continues, Ukraine will be the least of Putin’s problems.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in a late Wednesday address that Novovoskresenske, Novohryhorivka and Petropavlivka to the northeast of Kherson city had been “liberated”.

Russia is lobbying for a secret ballot instead of a public vote at the United Nations for next week, when the 193-member UN General Assembly considers whether to condemn its annexation of Donetsk and Luhansk in the east and Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in the south after staging referendums there.

Putin signed a law on Wednesday to incorporate the regions into Russia. Ukraine says it will never accept an illegal seizure of its territory by force. Kyiv and the West said the referendums were rigged votes held at gunpoint.
