Royal insiders ‘want Harry and Meghan to give up titles’ after ‘podcast attack’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be stripped of their titles after the Duke of Sussex's most recent attack on the Royal Family and its institutions, according to palace insiders.

There is reportedly a feeling of "bewilderment and betrayal" among palace aides after Harry's podcast interview in America aired during the week.

Those responsible for the running of the Royal Family are said to be confused by Prince Harry's attacks particularly when feelings are so raw following Prince Philip's death.

Prince Harry has been criticised for his appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast on Thursday where he spoke out against the legacy of parenting in his family.

His stinging barbs appeared to be directed at Prince Charles's parenting skills and by proxy those of the Queen and his late grandfather, reports the MailOnline.

"The Duke of Sussex has now spent a significant amount of time emphasising that he's no different to anyone else and attacking the institution which he says has caused him so much pain," fired one royal aide.

"There is a growing feeling that if you dislike the institution that much, you shouldn't have the titles."

There are calls that the couple who now live in America should be known as simply Harry and Meghan, with out the use of Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Although there are no formal plans to remove the husband wife's titles the mere fact it is being spoken about shows the deep sense of betrayal within the palace walls.

In the podcast interview Prince Harry spoke about how he intends to break the ‘cycle’ of bad royal parenting with his own children.

"Isn’t life about breaking the cycle?" he asked during the episode.

"There’s no blame," Harry was quick to add. "I don’t think anyone should be pointing the finger and blaming anyone.

"Certainly, when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain and suffering because of the pain and suffering that perhaps my father or parents suffered, I’m gonna make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on."

Harry also likened his life to 1998 Jim Carrey movie The Truman Show, and said it was like "being in a zoo", with audiences looking at him from all directions.
