Queen ‘would have moved heaven and high water’ to get to Crossrail opening
The Queen has made a "remarkable comeback" in recent days and "would have moved heaven and high water" to attend the opening of London's new Elizabeth tube line.
The Monarch was at the new underground line yesterday (Wednesday, May 18), following her appearance at the Windsor Horse Show just days earlier, despite recent worries about her health.
Royal expert Robert Jobson has sung her praises, saying her recent public appearances were "brilliant" all things considered.
He told GB News: "Well, look, the Palace has known for some time that they've got to pace the Queen.
"This particular thing for London, in particular, the Crossrail project is huge. Absolutely, huge for millions and millions of people.
"It's got her name attached to it too. You know, she would have moved heaven and high water to make sure she got there for that.
"And I think that the way she performed was brilliant as we saw at the Windsor Horse Show as well."
News of Her Majesty's appearance broke around 30 minutes before the event officially took place.
The new Transport for London line was due to be opened by her son, the Earl of Wessex Prince Edward.
Royal expert Richard Palmer tweeted: “There was a major clue an hour and a quarter before Edward was due to arrive when Transport for London removed the plaque saying he had opened it and replaced it with one eight inches lower bearing the Queen’s name.
“She looks great.”

And a Buckingham Palace spokesman said shortly before the event took place: “In a happy development, Her Majesty The Queen is attending today's event to mark the completion of the Elizabeth line.
“Her Majesty was aware of the engagement and the organisers were informed of the possibility she may attend.”
The Queen appeared in high spirits at the recent Royal Windsor Horse Show, but royal aides have alleged that Her Majesty has 'good and less good days' ahead of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Despite rumoured health issues, the long-reigning monarch was spotted attending a celebration at Windsor Castle, which was also attended by the likes of Tom Cruise, Dame Helen Mirren and Omid Djalili.
Her attendance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show could be one of few public appearances over the next few months, royal aides have warned.
