Police have found a body in the search for a missing 21-year-old man who disappeared after a party.

Paul Conte, a kickboxing instructor, was last seen in Barnes, west London, in the early hours of Sunday, August 15.

Metropolitan Police officers have since recovered a body from the River Thames at Putney Bridge in south west London.

The force confirmed in a statement: "Although formal identification awaits, police believe that the deceased is Paul Conte.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"His next of kin has been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.

"Paul had not been seen since he left a party in Ferry Road, Barnes, SW13 in the early hours of Sunday, 15 August."

They were initially called to the Thames around 7am on Wednesday, August 18.

He was last captured on CCTV in Galata Road and Parke Road, and residents were urged to check doorbell cameras.

He texted his girlfriend to say he would be walking back to Putney.

Paul's sister Leanne Conte, 31, earlier told My London: "Paul has ADHD and autism, so he doesn’t like change and him not coming Is completely out of character.

"He goes to work and comes home and sees his girlfriend and his friends, he likes his comforts."

She added: “Paul is funny, opinionated, and the most loyal person ever.

“If you are lucky enough to be considered his friend or family he will be there for you always. He is my baby brother and we just want him found.”
