NYPD cops shoot fleeing Queens car thief

Police shot and wounded a man who fled from them in a stolen car in Queens on Sunday night, authorities and sources said.

The shooting took place just before 10 p.m. at 97th Avenue and Allendale Street in Jamaica following a police pursuit of the stolen vehicle, police and sources said.

Two men were inside the vehicle, including the 28-year-old suspect who was shot by police in the torso, sources said.

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Two officers were taken to an area hospital for tinnitus, sources said.

It’s the second police-involved shooting since Thursday, when two plainclothes narcotics cops fatally shot a man who was charging at them with a knife.
