Non-profit foundation to pay off mortgage of slain Boulder police officer.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a New York-based nonprofit founded after 9/11, will pay off the mortgage of slain Boulder police Officer Eric Talley.

Talley, 51, was shot dead, along with nine other people, when he responded to the mass shooting March 22 at a King Soopers grocery store.

Frank Siller, the foundation’s CEO and chairman, announced Saturday that the organization is paying off Talley’s mortgage through its Fallen First Responder Home Program. Talley is survived by his wife and seven children.

The foundation was founded to honor Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Contributions may be made to the foundation on its website, tunnel2towers.org.
