Naked thug gave victim ‘bizarre’ dance show before beating her up in the bath

A sick bully stripped naked and put on a "very bizarre" dance show for a woman who he then brutally attacked in a bath.

Fidel Lamonth pushed a "truly terrified" woman into a partly-filled bath where he launched an unprovoked beating, breaking her nose and then forcing her to mop up her own blood.

Lamonth, 55, has been found guilty of causing actual bodily harm following his frenzied flurry of punches – which came out of nowhere – inside his Hull home on September 19 last year, Hull Live reports.

During his trial at Hull Crown Court this week, Judge Sophie McKone said that Lamonth invited the woman to his home and, once they were together, he behaved in a "very bizarre" way – removing his clothes and dancing in front of her.

"She went to use your bathroom, you followed her and began an unprovoked, vicious and unsustained attack on her," said Judge McKone. "She was trapped in your bathroom, which made her even more vulnerable."

Lamonth pulled out a knife but did not use it. "It must have added to her fear that you had a knife in your hand," said Judge McKone. Lamonth punched the woman in the face and back with the other hand while still holding the knife.

He pushed her into the bath, with the water still in it, and repeatedly punched her while she was in the bath.

"She pleaded to you to stop, telling you that she had children," said Judge McKone. "She was truly terrified. You then pulled off her clothing."

The woman was left just wearing her underwear and one sock. "You told her to clean up her own blood and, through fear, she did that," said Judge McKone.

"She managed to run into the street virtually naked." A man who was outside took her to Hull Royal Infirmary after "kindly" giving her his clothes. She suffered a fractured nose, had very deep bruises to her face and body, and a chipped tooth.

"She lives with the psychological effects of what you did to her," said Judge McKone. "She rarely goes out and, if she does, goes out accompanied. She can't sleep. Her nose is not properly healed. She is deeply traumatised by what you did to her."

The victim believed that the motivation for the incident was sexual but there was no charge relating to this, said Judge McKone.

The woman said in a statement that her children had seen her with her injuries. "They are worried about me being attacked again," she said.

Lamonth was jailed for four years and will be on extended licence of one year after his release from prison.
