Meghan Markle has said that any comments that she might make about the late Queen Elizabeth II – or about the Royal Family in general – might prove to be “a distraction” from the family’s mourning for the beloved monarch, mother and grandmother.
But in an extended interview with US entertainment industry bible Variety, she has shared a private conversation she had with Prince Harry, just after he learned of his grandmother’s death.
Saying that the period since the Queen’s death had been a “been a complicated time,” adding “but my husband, ever the optimist, said, ‘Now she’s reunited with her husband’.”

Meghan added that personally she felt “deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with [the Queen] and get to know her”.
The Duke of Sussex is understood to be working on a an additional chapter for his forthcoming book that focuses on the late Queen’s funeral, and his feelings about her death.
According to author and former MP Jeffrey Archer: “It will give him a chance to address those stories about him being offended by not being able to wear his uniform and then not having the ER letters on his epaulettes."
Prince Andrew branded 'runt of the litter' who 'couldn't keep his trousers closed'
The Daily Mail’s royal correspondent Richard Eden added: "This could be a way that all the tenses are correct, referring to the Queen in the past and then having that new chapter could be a quite elegant way to do with it.
“It would suggest that the book is being delayed so it may come out next spring rather than next month as we've been led to believe."
The changes may lead to conflict with the Netflix documentary series about the Duke and Duchess.
According to Page Six, a senior Netflix source said: “A lot in the show contradicted what Harry has written, so that was an issue. Then Harry and Meghan made significant requests [to filmmakers] to walk back content they themselves have provided, for their own project."
