Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rescued factory chickens stay in £11m mansion

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may hobnob with the with the rich and famous, but they also like to get their hands dirty with their very own chicken coop.

During their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in 2021, they couple opened up about the intricacies of their private life.

They also shared some of the hobbies they have taken up at home, including their efforts in conservation and environmental awareness.

One of the more surprising revelations was that the pair have their own chicken coop that they tend to with the help of little Archie, three, and now one-year-old Lilibet.

Meghan has always been an animal lover as she owns two dogs, Pula and Guy, who live with her in California.

They expanded their family with the addition of chickens back in 2021, when they revealed to Oprah that they were pursuing a “down to basics” lifestyle.

Above the entrance of the coop it reads: “Archie's Chick Inn — established 2021.”

Harry told Oprah: “She’s always wanted chickens,” with Meghan adding: “I just love rescuing.”

The 10 chickens in the coop were all rescued from a factory farm and now in live whatever the equivalent of the Ritz is for farm animals.

The chickens provide the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with fresh eggs that the whole family enjoy.

The £11million villa is officially titled the Chateau of Riven Rock and is decked out with all the luxuries you would expect for a royal couple.

It has everything, and so much of it, including a wine cellar with hundreds of bottles, a games room, library and swimming pool.

The entire home has a rustic, livedin aesthetic that is perfect for a family with a few million to spare.
