Man arrested after woman killed, teen injured in Melbourne’s south-east

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Melbourne’s south-east late on Saturday night and have arrested a man who they say is known to the victim.

Emergency services were called to a property in Wodalla Circuit, Sandhurst about 11.40pm on Saturday following reports of an assault.

A woman was found dead at the home and a teenage boy was found with a head injury.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. No one has been charged over the incident.

“At this stage investigators believe the parties involved were known to each other,” a Victoria Police spokesman said.

Sandhurst is about 37 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s CBD and is part of the City of Frankston.
