Kate Middleton’s sweet gesture to daughter Charlotte before memorial service

Kate Middleton was spotted giving her daughter Princess Charlotte some maternal reassurance when the Cambridges arrived at Westminster Abbey for Prince Philip's memorial service, a lip-reading expert revealed.

Kate and her husband, Prince William, along with their children — George, eight, and Charlotte, six — joined other members of the Royal Family and 1,800 mourners to celebrate the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip's life, who passed away in April, 2021.

When they got out of the car, Charlotte was "overwhelmed" by the occasion as she was seen holding her mother's hand, a body language expert noted.

But she was quickly comforted by Kate, who seemingly gave a three-word reassurance to her.

"You can smile," the 40-year-old mum-of-three said, according to professional lip reader Jacqui Press.

Charlotte then looked at the row of journalists standing in front and on the side of the Abbey's door, showing a light grin to the cameras.

William also followed a similar approach as he tried to ease up George, telling him "let's go in" when he noticed his son was "taking a deep breath" and rubbing his clothes.

They joined Prince Charles and Camilla before proceeding inside the Abbey where they met cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and their husbands.

During the service, the Queen was seen "tearing up" as she tried to hold a "very stoic expression" when the 1,800 guests sang Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer.

The 95-year-old Monarch was poignantly seen standing up with with tears in her eyes.

Nick Davies, a leading UK Psychotherapist and Body Language Expert, told Daily Star: "When the main clergyman talks about Philip the Queen's eyes begin to tear up as you'd expect but then she holds a very stoic expression afterwards, which she is used to after so many years of duty."
