AN AUSSIE dad lost his lottery ticket worth a jaw-dropping fortune but was left speechless by what happened next.
The Dubbo West, Australia, resident couldn’t find his ticket anywhere and had his family in a frenzy searching for it after he realised he had won.
It turned out he won a whopping £828,500 after holding one of the four division winning entries in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4264, on Monday.
Speaking on the frantic unfolding of events he said: “Would you believe I lost the ticket at first, I had everyone looking for it”.
After a hectic search, the winning ticket was retrieved from the lucky man’s wallet after he realised it had been there the whole time.
“I can't believe it! I will share this win with my children and go on a trip with my partner!

“I've been playing for several years and the most I've won is £800! 'Thank you so much,” he told a Lott official on Tuesday morning.
The winning dad bought the ticket at his local Dubbo West Post Office.
The Post Office owner, Lea Callan, expressed his excitement after selling their first ever division one winning ticket.
“We couldn't believe it! We thought the news might've been a hoax email, our team and our customers are so excited,” he said.

Unfortunate winners who lose their tickets are still able to claim their fortunes, even if they are not a registered player.
The Lott has shared guidance for those who find themselves scratching their heads over where they last left their ticket.
They recommend customers fill out its lost and damaged ticket form if they believe they might have been lucky enough to hold a winning ticket.
The Lotto player is then expected to provide thorough details about the entry including where it was purchased, how they paid for the ticket and the number of games they bought.
The winning numbers in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4264 were 10, 36, 39, 26, 16 while the supplementary numbers were 29 and 11.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4264 – three in New South Wales and one in Western Australia.
This comes after one mum in Queensland, Australia, won a mega £19 million after buying a winning Powerball ticket.
The Aussie bagged the incredible amount but vowed to "keep working" because she loved her job so much.
