In another twist in an unlikely feud, climate activist Greta Thunberg has destroyed right wing commentator Andrew Tate with a 'recycle your pizza box' tweet after he was 'arrested in Romania'.

Yesterday (Thursday, December 29) British ex-kickboxer and Big Brother contestant Tate, 36, was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group.

Some outlets reported that it was a sarcastic video response to Thunberg that ended up leading police to him.

Tate, who has been accused of extreme misogyny towards women, was having an online spat with the 19-year-old when he tweeted her to brag about his “33 cars” and their massive fuel-guzzling engines.

He taunted her again yesterday brandishing a pizza box – that he said wasn't going to recycle.

But it appears the address on the box may have tipped off Romanian cops that he was back in the country, and he bizarrely claimed "the Matrix has attacked me" as he was led away by police.

According to Alejandra Caraballo, a writer and clinical instructor posting on Twitter, the packaging provided the tip off.

However, it is unlikely that Romanian authorities didn't know the brothers were in the country but within 24 hours of posting the video to social media, Tate was arrested by Romanian police.

Caraballo said: “Romanian authorities needed proof that Andrew Tate was in the country so they reportedly used his social media posts.

“His ridiculous video yesterday featured a pizza from a Romanian pizza chain, Jerry's Pizza, confirming he was in the country.

“Not only did Greta Thunberg destroy Andrew Tate with her tweet, she made him so angry he inadvertently tipped off Romanian authorities of his presence in Romania with his lame comeback video."

She went on: “Moral of the story – don't f*** with teenagers on social media (because) they will completely destroy you.”

Caraballo later revised her thread saying that she agreed that the pizza box video was probably not "the defining piece of evidence" leading to the arrests.

Either way Thunberg wasn't finished, rubbing salt into Tate's wounds by tweeting this morning (Friday, December 30) as she joked: "This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes."

Her withering put down provoked a slew of responses, including one that said she "won 2022 in extra time".

"Saving the planet by taking out the trash literally and metaphorically, love that for you, congratulations on winning 2022 in extra time!" the tweeter said.

"Time to make a throne for yourself using recycled pizza boxes after today. Top G," added another person, referencing Tate's catchphrase.

Sports journalist Himanshu Pareek added: "As a climate activist, you aren't setting a great example by that much burning."

Tate's brother Tristan was also allegedly arrested in Romania along with two other men.

A spokesman for Andrew Tate said: “We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained; however, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can.”
