Family beg police to shoot their own dog dead after it launched horror attack
A family were left begging police to shoot their dog after it turned on them out of the blue in a horror attack.
Michelle and Stephen Quayle had hoped three-year-old blue heeler, Ace would be part of their lives in Perth, Australia for the next decade when they adopted him last month.
Sadly those dreams came to a crushing end when the pet suddenly saw red and sank his teeth into dad Stephen's throat, as Ace launched a sustained assault.

Unable to calm the dog down as he went for the couple and their daughter, the Quayle family called the police who destroyed him with three gunshots.
Stephen said: "He [Ace] lunged at me and went for my throat."
Ace followed Michelle into Stephen's office where he was sitting on the floor at the time of the attack.
If it wasn't for a post-surgery plastic collar Ace was wearing, the couple believe he could have killed someone that evening.
Michelle added that she immediately leapt into action but struggled to free her husband of their new pet's bloody grip.
She said: "[Stephen] tried to push him off. I tried to grab him, but he was so strong. I tried to pull him off, it took all my might. Then I got him out the office and slammed the door shut."

Locking the dog out of the office kept them from harm but their daughter was then hunted out as his next target. The Quayles revealed Ace bit the youngster's arm before she was able to barricade herself in her bedroom.
Left feeling helpless and fearing for their own safety as Ace tried beating the doors down, they called the police who ended the nightmare but with it the dog's life.
Michelle said: "When the police came to the door, I had to come out to let him in and he [Ace] just attacked me. He lunged onto my leg."
It was then Stephen's turn to be the hero and tackle Ace off his wife, tossing him towards the attending police officer and urging him to shoot the dog.
He said: "I had to come out to rip his jaws off to get him off my wife.
"I threw him at the police officer and I said 'Shoot him! Shoot him!' and he did. It took three shots. It took three shots to kill him."
Fortunately for the family, the officer was just around the corner of their Baldivis home when they dialled for help.

WA Police Senior Sergeant Ian Francis explained: "The officer's gone inside the home, he's made contact with the other family members, and it was at that point the family dog had come back into that area where the family members were and attacked the wife in front of the police officer.
"We don't like harming animals but given the circumstances, that level of force was required to reduce the threat to the family and to the officer himself," he said.
Sergeant Francis agreed the plastic collar probably saved Stephen's life who along with Michelle and their daughter, received medical treatment in hospital.
