Extinction Rebellion activists glue themselves to Speaker’s chair after storming House of Commons in latest stunt | The Sun

EXTINCTION Rebellion activists have GLUED themselves to the Speaker's chair after storming the House of Commons.

The chaos broke out this morning as three protesters stood hand-in-hand in front of the seat.

It is not yet known how the eco warriors – who held up signs reading "let the people decide" – got in.

A range of tours, however, are offered around the Houses of Parliament – and they may have been on a walking tour before staging their stunt.

The official XR account wrote on Twitter: "Extinction Rebellion supporters have superglued around the Speakers Chair inside the commons chamber.

"Right now inside Parliament a speech is being read out demanding a Citizens' Assembly Now."

Cops also responded as two others locked their necks to the front gates of the Houses of Parliament.

MPs are currently on recess, with the House only returning next week.

A House of Commons spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident on the parliamentary estate and are currently dealing with the situation as a matter of urgency."
