Denver weather: Half-dollar-sized hail possible in Aurora, Brighton, near DIA

3:11 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning for Aurora, Brighton and the area near the Denver International Airport is in effect until 4 p.m. Potential hazards include half-dollar-sized hail and 60 mph winds.

A severe thunderstorm warning also has been issued for Nunn and Hereford, which also is in effect until 4 p.m.

Potential hazards include winds of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.

3:01 p.m.: A  severe thunderstorm warning is in effect in Greeley, Windsor and Evans until 3:45 p.m.

2:50 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning for Loveland, Johnstown and Milliken has been issued by the NWS and remains in effect until 3:30 p.m. The alert states that winds of up to 50 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible.

2:41 p.m.: Half-dollar-sized hail has been reported with the strongest storms moving across the Front Range.

2:27 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning for Fort Lupton, Vollmar and Wattenberg has been issued by the NWS and remains in effect until 3:15 p.m. The alert states that winds of up to 50 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible.

2:24 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning for Thorton, Arvada and Westminster has been issued by the NWS. It will remain in effect until 3 p.m. The alert states that winds of up to 50 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible.

2:10 p.m.: Denver International Airport on Twitter warned that flights could experience delays of up to two hours as a storm rolled in at the facility. Officials advised in a tweet that travelers should check their flight’s status for potential delays before arriving at the airport.

1:48 p.m.: Storms are expected to move eastward across the plains and will intensify throughout the afternoon.

1:46 p.m.: The National Weather Service is warning of possible half-inch hail and 30 mph wind in Evergreen, Kittredge and Aspen Park.

1:33 p.m.: Large swaths of Colorado are under a severe thunderstorm watch as storms move across Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Be prepared for potential hail up to two inches in size, scattered wind gusts up to 65 mph and frequent lightning, according to the National Weather Service.
