Denver police investigating whether deputy’s tires were shot out on I-70 – The Denver Post

The Denver Sheriff Department says a deputy’s tires possibly were shot early Monday by someone in a vehicle “driving aggressively.”

Before 1 a.m. Monday, the Denver Police Department said it received a report of shots fired on Interstate 70.

The uniformed deputy was driving to work at the county jail and thought he heard gunshots, said Daria Serna, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department. He exited the highway found both of his rear tires were flat.

DPD is investigating whether the vehicle was struck by gunfire.

The deputy given administrative leave “as a result of the nature of the incident,” Serna said.
