Brave man cheats death from jaws of crocodile after slapping reptile on the head

A brave man managed to cheat death during a vicious crocodile attack after slapping the beast on the head.

Bohri Jali somehow came away from the terrifying reptile attack with only some lacerations to his torso.

The 54-year-old was making repairs to his home next to a riverbank in Kampung Tabuan Melayu, Malaysia, at around 10am (local time) on June 4 when the incident occurred.

He said the assailant was a "baby crocodile", but still big enough to have been able to cause him some serious damage.

His daughter Zairina Bohri, 25, has since discussed her father's lucky escape with reporters.

She told them she was alerted to that attack after hearing her mum, Shamsiah Narawi, screaming.

Zairina rushed out of their house and witnessed her dad's tussle with the crocodile.

She told local news outlet Utusan Borneo: "I heard my mother scream: 'Girl, your father is being attacked by a crocodile!'

"My father was doing repairs to the exterior of the house prior to the attack."

Bohri said he was not aware the crocodile was watching him before it launched the attack.

It managed to clamp onto him with a powerful bite but released its jaws after the slap on the head.

Afterwards, Bohri was rushed to the nearest health clinic to have his injuries checked over as a precaution.

The dad-of-three is actually the second person to be attacked by a crocodile in the Malaysian state of Sarawak within a month.

A seven-year-old boy went missing after an incident on May 21 in nearby Telaga Air.

Mohd Adammi Moktar was playing on a riverbank with his two sisters when a huge croc, estimated at around 6m long, grabbed him and dragged him into the water.

As of May 28 he hadn't been found and it is believed he is still missing after no further reports on the incident.
