The Conservatives have faced a turbulent few months with Boris Johnson facing increasing questions over his premiership, but the Prime Minister is unlikely to conduct a reshuffle until June or July, according to a Government source.
In total there are 4,411 council seats being contested today, with elections in 144 out of England’s 333 councils, all seats in Scotland’s 32 local authorities, and all seats in Wales’ 22 local authorities.
An analysis by pollster Find Out Now and political consultancy Electoral Calculus suggested the Conservatives could lose some 800 council seats and Labour could gain control of about 20 councils.

PM to delay cabinet reshuffle
Tory MPs have been speculating about a cabinet reshuffle but Boris Johnson will delay the process, according to a Government source.
The source said the Prime Minister is unlikely to reshuffle his cabinet until June or July.
It is likely he wants to see the full outcome of the partygate scandal and if anymore MPs have fines over attending lockdown parties.
Mr Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak were both fined by the Metropolitan Police over lockdown-breaking parties.
