The service, Currency.com Prime, is an over-the-counter (OTC) crypto trading desk with a number of enhanced features for the HNW and institutional customers.  Each client using the service will have access to a dedicated account manager to provide guidance and support for their various trading needs.  They will also ensure that clients have customized advisory services (including multi-lingual support), and other features targeted at ensuring large volume trading is seamless and secure.  For these higher tier clients, the OTC trading desk will provide access to exclusive products and features ranging from staking, NFTs, limited offering tokens, wallet and storage solutions, and even liquidity to help ensure fast/easy transactions.

Samuel Rondot, who is Head of OTC Trading at Currency.com, discussed the new offering:

“HNW individuals have diverse portfolios with investments across many different sectors and a large appetite for new products. Their time and attention are valuable and staying ahead of changes in the crypto market requires constant attention and a lot of time. Operating across multiple time-zones, Currency.com Prime will provide our clients with a personal and private consulting service to support them in their trading journey.”

The platform is able to provide their Prime premium service due to their larger footprint and infrastructure compared to many competing exchanges.  Currency.com has three different offices across Europe, and over 700 team members developing and supporting the platform.

Samuel emphasized that the new trading desk is supported by an already strong infrastructure offered by Currency.com, stating that ““Currency.com Prime is powered by a state-of-the-art smart order management system that automatically and instantly routes orders through a deep liquidity pool. This enables Currency.com  to give clients the best price at the time of trading. With Currency.com Prime, clients can easily and securely complete large transactions with just a few clicks or consult our advisory teams for a more personalised experience.”

Rondot also discussed the engine supporting the OTC Trading desk.

“Currency.com Prime is powered by a state-of-the-art smart order management system that automatically and instantly routes orders through a deep liquidity pool. This enables Currency.com  to give clients the best price at the time of trading. With Currency.com Prime, clients can easily and securely complete large transactions with just a few clicks or consult our advisory teams for a more personalised experience.”

Currency.com has built up a reputation of a customer-focused UX.  This has been a successful effort, if the number of accolades and ratings are an indicator.  The platform as won several awards, including “Best cryptocurrency exchange in the CIS” from Blockchain Life Award 2019, and “Breakthrough in cryptocurrency trading” from the ADVFN International Financial Awards 2020.  Their mobile app has also been popular with customers, gaining over 500K installs in 2021 and earning a 4.7 rating for IOS users (4.4 on the Google Play store).

Vitaliy Kedyk, Head of Strategy for Currency.com, discussed the motivation for adding this service:

“Traditionally, one of the largest barriers to entry for institutions and HNW investors in the crypto space has been the lack of infrastructure. By supporting these clients with bespoke OTC services through Currency.com Prime, we believe that we can encourage the further growth of the crypto market.  Over time, the increased institutional presence will lead to a more substantial price discovery in cryptocurrencies, which will further promote the development of supportive regulation and drive greater mainstream adoption.”
