Young boy, 7, forced to learn how to make Molotov cocktails for Ukraine war
A heartbroken woman has revealed her seven-year-old nephew is learning how to make Molotov cocktails.
As Ukrainian nationals gathered in Leeds, West Yorkshire to demonstrate against Russia's war on their homeland they shared shocking stories of their relatives' current experiences.
Anastasia Rapley, told LeedsLive how the threat of assault is so real that her nephew has been forced to make Molotov cocktails.
Mum-of-one and photographer Anastasia, 26, said: “My family are all making Molotov cocktails – everybody, all my friends.
"My youngest family member who is making them is seven years old. It’s awful. I speak to people living in England who do not understand this. The war is only a three-hour flight away from here."
Anastasia brushed away tears and could no longer continue speaking, she was so upset.
One man spoke of his family members hiding in a shared basement, having to share a bucket as a toilet.
Also showing their support were Georgij Mukomel, 26, and his wife Anastasiia Liakjova who spoke of how “worried” they were for their families.
Georgij’s mother, her husband and his six-year-old brother have been hiding in their building’s basement during the conflict.

Life there has been wretched and nerve-wracking, with the family forced to “use a bucket to go to the toilet” along with other residents in the tower block.
IT worker Georgij said: “They’re living in a basement, it’s horrible. It’s not like a private basement in a house, they live in a little flat. The basement is shared, it has no beds, no running water – it’s basically just a basement.
"They’ve used some wood and blankets to make it more comfortable.
“They are sleeping on the floor. They have a bucket to go to the toilet. They live in an apartment complex, a tall building so there’s more than 100 flats all sharing.”
