Woman whips off knickers in middle of supermarket to wear them as face mask

An astonishing video shows a blonde customer in a supermarket whip off her knickers and put them on her head after being warned she would not be served without a face mask.

The viral incident was filmed at a Pick n Pay supermarket in South Africa after the female shopper was asked to wear a face-covering and claimed she did not have one.

In the footage, the security guard is seen asking the shopper to put on a face mask.

After threatening to remove her from the supermarket, the woman then reaches under her dress and whips off her undies to use as a makeshift mask.

Another female shopper, reportedly the same woman who went viral earlier in the week for telling supermarket staff to remove their face masks, says "well done" and appears to congratulate the woman.

However, many netizens did not agree with the women’s view on face masks and took to social media to defend the mandated use of them.

One Facebook user said: "Stay at home and do online shopping if you don’t like the idea of wearing a mask."

Another person commented: "This makes me sick. She is aware of the law worldwide.

"We have a serious virus and (she thinks) a G-string will save her.

"Come on grow up. What must your family think?"

In December last year, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stressed that not wearing a face mask in public is a criminal offence.

He said: "A person who does not wear a mask could be arrested and prosecuted.

"On conviction, they will be liable to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both a fine and imprisonment."
