Woman dead and five injured after house collapses following explosion

A woman has died and five people have been injured after a house collapsed following a suspected explosion.
Police confirmed the woman’s body was found in Ramsbottom in Bury, Greater Manchester.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, while five other people were left with minor injuries.
Emergency services were called to reports a house had collapsed just before 9.30pm on Wednesday.
The blast reportedly caused "homes to shake".
Paramedics treated three people at the scene for minor injuries, while a woman and a child were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Five homes were evacuated while a small scene remains in place.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Five properties were evacuated as a precaution and a small scene remains in place.
“A woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident."
Pictures show the extent of the damage, with the top of the house left completely destroyed.
Only the roof beams remain in place.
A joint investigation is being carried out by police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and local authorities in Bury.
