William and Kate ‘not thinking’ about Harry and Meghan and ‘focusing on Queen’

Prince William and Kate Middleton "aren’t thinking" about the "Harry and Meghan situation", a royal expert has claimed.

The supposed rift between the couples has been well-documented, and the Duke of Sussex has twice said that he and his brother are on “different paths”.

Royal commentator Nick Bullen believes the pair are “pretty distant at the moment”, Express.co.uk reports.

He told US Weekly reporter Christina Garibaldi: "I think the depths of the sadness and split between the two brothers is incredibly deep.

"I think it is going to take a lot to get them back together."

The royal expert claimed that both the Duke of Sussex and Cambridge were focussing on other things besides their relationship.

He continued: "I think Prince William and Kate are focussing on their work, focussing on their children and supporting the Queen.

"I don't think, I don't know for sure, but I don't think they spend a lot of time thinking about the Harry and Meghan situation.”

Mr Bullen continued: "Harry clearly doesn't seem to be spending a lot of time thinking about his impact on the family in the UK.

"I think, as Harry put it, on their own paths.

"They will always be brothers, they will always want to have some level of contact but I think it is pretty distant at the moment as I am told by those close to them."

However, Stewart Pearce, who worked withPrincess Dianafrom 1995-1997 and helped her master her public speaking, has dismissed rumours of a rift – and claims the royals are still “very close”.

He argues that William and Kate backedHarryandMeghan’smove to Montecito in California, the US.

Responding to Harry's remarks about the brothers being on "different paths", Mr Pearce told the Daily Star: "They’re not saying 'therefore we are in animosity'.

"It’s just that the withdrawal mechanism, so to speak, that Harry and Meghan used had to be severe because of what they had been witness to."
