Weather forecast tomorrow – Exact moment UK will ROAST in 27C Saharan scorcher before African plume 'blood rain' hits
BRITAIN will roast in maximum temperatures of 28C today – but there's still a risk of thunder and heavy showers, according to experts.
A tropical North African blast sweeping in from the south is bringing the hottest the temperatures of the year so far.
Record temperatures are all likely to be beaten today. The South West is expected to reach temperatures of up to 27C while Scotland will get up to 18C.
Those in London and the rest of the South East will have temperatures far above those in Ibiza!
According to the Daily Mail, the beaches in Ibiza were seen empty today with the weather cooler than the UK at just 21C.
Meanwhile, beaches in Weymouth, Dorset are already packed with beachgoers at temperatures continue to soar in the UK.
Saharan dust is expected at the end of the week along with rain which could lead to 'blood rain' in the UK.
According to Mark Parrington, Senior Scientist for CAMS, who spoke to MailOnline: "Most of the dust transport is likely to be at higher altitudes which could lead to hazy skies rather than impacts on surface air quality.
"It may also be mixed with some rain, which is also forecast for Friday, so there could be surface deposits on cars after the rain has cleared."

Are we ready for 'Blood Rain'?
Keep your clothes in and don't be caught out by the heat.
Blood rain is expected at the end of the week as dust come in from the Sahara.
Rain and drizzle are also expected in parts of the UK.
As the two mix together, deposits will likely be left on things outside leading to red rain, also known as 'blood rain'.

What are the odds of today being the hottest May day on record?
Feel like getting lucky?
Today might be the hottest day of 2022 so far, but it may be the hottest May day on record.
William Hill expect Britain to be sweltering under the heat today with it just 1/4 that Tuesday is the hottest day of the year so far.
But, the bookmaker think it’s more than likely that 2022’s current record of 23.6C will be beaten today. There’s an outside chance at 50/1 that Tuesday surpasses 32.8C and in doing so becomes the hottest May day on record.
William Hill spokesperson, Tony Kenny said: “It looks as if we’re in for a scorcher today and with Britain expected to bask in sunshine, we anticipate it being the warmest day of 2022 so far.
“We are just 1/4 that the mercury hits a new high on Tuesday, while we’re not totally ruling out the May record of 32.8C being broken either at 50/1.”

Tonight's weather not so different from the day
North and West to have more rain and wind.
It should clear for a period before more showers return to the north west a little later.
Thunder is expected to follow the sweltering weather in the south east.
It will then clear to make way for clear skies.
- Ije Teunissen-Oligboh
Ready to roast in the South?
Previously expected to be 23C, then 26C, today might reach up to 28C.
The Southeast will experience sunshine and very warm temperatures throughout today.
Rain and cloud are expected in Northern Ireland though. The rain and cloud will likely get heavier and more widespread across the west as the day draws on.
Windy cool weather for the north.

Expert tips for keeping it cool
With temperatures about to skyrocket into the high 20s, wellness experts from Zeal CBD have put together some tips on how to keep your home as cool as possible for the family, as well as pets:
- Put a bowl of ice in front of a fan – Simply put a bowl bucket or even tupperware filled with ice water directly in front of a fan. As the ice melts the breeze from the fan will pick up the cool air and will create a cool breeze.
- Keep curtains and windows closed during the day – On a gorgeous sunny day it’s natural to want to want to see the sun and have it shining in through your windows, but it will heat up your surroundings similar to a greenhouse!
- Open windows once the day gets cooler -Once it gets towards the evening, temperatures will start cooling down, which means it’s time to open your windows – and have one open whilst you sleep (if it’s safe to do so).
- Turn off the lights – It’s best to avoid any sort of extra light or heat sources when the temperature is already scorching!
For pets:
- Encourage them to stay in shaded areas and away from direct sunlight – Pet safety comes first and ensuring your pet is in a shaded area will keep them cool.
- Put down damp towels for them to lie on – A quick method to cool your pet down is to damp a towel with cold water for your pet to lie on.
- Put the garden sprinkler on – If you have a sprinkler or a hose then turn it on during a hot summers day. This can be a fun activity for kids and will keep your pet feeling cool in the sun.
Yellow warning remains in place
During Monday afternoon thunderstorms are likely to develop over parts of Wales and the Midlands before moving northwards into northern England and develop over Northern Ireland.
These are likely to bring some heavy rain to places with 20 mm of rain possible in 1-2 hours but also the risk of hail and thunder.
The thunderstorms will clear from the south during the afternoon then die out altogether into the evening.

Tips for keeping safe in a thunderstorm
Yellow Warning still in place for the UK as thunderstorms grumble on.
- If you are stuck outside and a thunderstorm erupts, get inside as soon as possible.
- Avoid shelter under trees, crouch down into a small ball with your hands over your head to make minimal contact with the ground. If your hair stands up on end, assume the curled up position.
- Keep away from cliffs, and bodies of water.
- Avoid using your landline telephone, lightening causes power surges.
- Beware of metal objects.
- Keep windows and doors shut.
- Cars can be damaged internally and externally by lightening, even radios, GPS and foot pedals and carry electricity from a lightening strike.
- Soft top and convertible cars are most likely to catch fire.
- Keep your travelling speed down when travelling in a storm, to stop wind blowing the car around dangerously.
- Secure down loose objects such as ladders and garden furniture
