UK’s unluckiest bride broke ribs after groom dropped her in ‘disaster’ wedding
A seriously unlucky bride broke three ribs after her groom dropped her in their honeymoon suite.
Amelia Desmond, 41, and Jim, 40, have been dubbed Britain's unluckiest newlyweds after a string of postponements and losses.
"Everything that could possibly go wrong, did – it was one thing after another," said Amelia who is nursing her bedroom injuries.
The couple's wedding was postponed three times due to Covid-19 and when the big day finally came around, they lost their rings and Jim's limo did not turn up.
Amelia's date with A&E after Jim tried carrying her to bed on their wedding day, was followed up by them missing two flights to their Ibiza honeymoon after losing their wallets and passports.
Amelia and Jim from Wallingford, Oxfordshire also lost a handbag, left a suitcase in their taxi, missed their coach and needed a locksmith on return.
Catering manager Amelia said: "Friends and family have asked ‘How did you not just give up?’ but we knew we would never do that.
"I admit there was one point where I just burst into tears – it was the final straw when we got back and realised the car and house keys were nowhere to be found.
"Despite all the struggles and stress, it was most definitely worth it to marry my best friend, and the fact we never gave up shows how strong we are.

"We see the funny side now and we laugh about it all the time – it was still the best day of our lives."
The first hiccup was not receiving their £900 rings in time so they had to order some more from Amazon the day before their wedding.
Then council worker Jim and his eight groomsmen needed to order a convoy of taxis to the wedding after their limousine never showed up.
The ceremony finally kicked off 50 minutes late.
An unexpected trip to the hospital was the next thing to go wrong as Jim tripped and dropped Amelia on the solid oak bed frame.

"I dropped her at quite some speed."
Amelia said: “I literally couldn't move – I thought I was paralysed."

After watching it drive past they booked a cab and headed to check in – only to realise they'd left their bag containing their wallets inside the taxi.
They booked another flight for the following morning and stayed in a nearby hotel but on their way to the airport, disaster struck.
Amelia said: "I was counting the bags over and over to make sure we didn't lose any. That was when I realised my handbag was missing – with our passports in it."
By the time it was found and handed in, they had missed their flight, and had to rebook for the next day.
