Ukraine hints at further drone attacks on Moscow in cryptic Telegram video

Ukraine has published a new film, which appears to warn Russians of an impending attack on various cities within the next month.

The video, which was uploaded on the Ukraine military StratCom Telegram channel, shows a small cartoon boy standing next to a demolished house, weeping over a drawing of a family holding a Ukrainian flag.

In the video, the youngster turns the drawing into a paper plane, which then converts into a drone and eventually becomes part of a fleet.

The animation depicts red lines going from various locations in Ukraine to Russia or areas held by the Russian army, such as Sevastopol and Melitopol.

The animation culminates with a last red line stretching from Kyiv to Moscow, followed by the screen becoming dark and revealing a precise date: August 24.

This date is significant because it is Ukraine’s Independence Day, honouring the moment the country earned independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

In central Moscow, a skyscraper was targeted by a drone attack for the second time in approximately 48 hours, causing damage to the building’s facade and highlighting the vulnerability of the Russian capital.

The Russian authorities have accused Ukraine of orchestrating the assault.

An adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took to Twitter, suggesting that Moscow is becoming accustomed to a full-fledged war, but without confirming or denying Kyiv’s involvement.

Russian officials have asserted that the repeated attacks on the capital region demonstrate failures in Ukraine’s counteroffensive to reclaim Russian-occupied territory.

President Zelensky hinted over the weekend that the war was gradually extending back into Russian territory, but he refrained from accepting responsibility.

According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, they managed to shoot down two Ukrainian drones outside Moscow and disrupt another one, causing it to crash into a skyscraper in the business district and inflict damage to the building’s exterior.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that the drone hit the same building that was targeted in a similar attack on Sunday.

The building, IQ-Quarter, situated 4.5 miles from the Kremlin, accommodates multiple government agencies, including the headquarters of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

There were no casualties resulting from the drone attack on Tuesday.
