UK weather: Brits to enjoy 22C sunshine today – but rain and cloud are on the way | The Sun

BRITS will enjoy 22C sunshine today, forecasters have said – but warned rain and cloudy conditions are just around the corner.

Most parts of the UK will see a cool start to the day with some pleasant sunny spells, the Met Office says.

It will turn cloudier from the northwest as the day progresses and rain is due to arrive in the afternoon across Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

The winds will grow stronger in those areas and some coastal gales are expected, the Met Office predicts.

Down in the southeast though, it will remain rather warm with the mercury hitting 22C at around 4pm in the London area.

Met Office meteorologist Claire Nasir said: “By lunchtime we’ll see the first of the rain move in across Northern Ireland, western Scotland as well.”

It will remain warm with sunny spells in the south with temperatures hitting 24C, while in the north it will be cooler with sunshine and showers.

In the far north though it will be windy.
