- A Twitter account thought to be Elon Musk’s ‘burner’ profile emerged on Monday
- The account takes the name ‘Elon Test’ and features a picture of Musk’s son
- In one tweet the account holder asks another user: ‘Do you like Japanese girls?’
Twitter users believe they’ve uncovered uber-wealthy owner Elon Musk’s ‘burner’ account, which appears to post strange comments and pose questions from the perspective of a young boy.
Speculation that the person behind it could be the world’s second-richest man first emerged Monday evening after users spotted its profile image in a screenshot Musk posted to his main verified account.
The account, which is called ‘Elon Test’ and was created in November 2022 weeks after he bought Twitter, was then deleted Tuesday morning but mysteriously reinstated later in the day.
Perhaps the most bizarre tweet published from the Elon Test profile was a reply to another user, asking: ‘Do you like Japanese girls?’
Another read: ‘I wish I was old enough to go to nightclubs. They sound so fun.’
The account Elon test was created in November 2022 – weeks after Musk acquired Twitter – and is suspected to be the billionaire’s ‘burner’ account. As of Tuesday afternoon, it had more than 30,000 followers

The account’s profile picture is a photo of X Æ A-Xii, Musk’s child with Grimes, playing with a model rocket. The account published dozens of tweets in recent months and whoever controls it seems to assume the identity of a child.
It was first discovered by someone within a tweet shared by Musk promoting new monetization features on Twitter.
Twitter allows users to manage multiple accounts and easily switch between them in the app with the press of a button, which appears as the profile image of the other account.
The Elon Test account, username @ErmnMusk, has the same profile picture as the second account that appears in Musk’s screenshot, posted to his verified personal account with around 137 million followers.

Musk’s child X Æ A-Xii was born on May 4, 2020, and will be three on May 4
The suspected burner account had just 1,800 followers at around 10pm Monday. By midnight it had nearly 10,000 and more than 30,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
The most recent tweet to be published on the profile reads: ‘I will finally turn 3 on May 4th!’
Musk’s child X Æ A-Xii was born on May 4, 2020, and will be 3 years old on May 4.
Many of the tweets were made on November 13 when the profile was first created. It begins with, ‘This is my first tweet,’ and adds, ‘Only one person is following me (sigh).’
At around that time the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX made international headlines, and several of Elon Test’s tweets were in relation to that scandal.
In one he asks, ‘What is an FTX?’ In another, he comments on a picture of Bankman-Fried’s ex-girlfriend, Caroline Ellison: ‘I [heart] librarians’.
In another tweet, Elon Test replied to images of President Biden’s motorcade on a military cargo plane, asking: ‘Why does he need so many cars? Does he have a big family?’

In many tweets the person running the Elon Test account took on the identity of a naïve child
Another reply appeared to show the profile responding to a tweet from Musk’s main profile in which he shared a meme relating to the FTX collapse.
In early December, the account published a tweet, ‘Hello, please follow me!’ and a few days later, ‘For the love of God, can someone follow me.’
Since he purchased Twitter last year, Musk has been experimenting with various algorithms and it is plausible that he was testing how tweets trend and what drives traffic on the platform.
Unlike Musk’s main profile, which was verified with a blue tick and subscribed to Twitter Blue, a new paid Twitter subscription, Elon Test is not verified. Musk has also been exploring how to ‘boost’ tweets made by verified Twitter Blue members.
DailyMail.com asked Twitter for confirmation as to whether the account is run by Musk, but the company did not respond.
