TikTok goes viral after pet cat gives birth on owners lap

Now THAT’S a lap cat! Owner is shocked when pet cat gives BIRTH to a litter of kittens while sitting on her legs

• Ellen Fransen, 18, from Andijk, Netherlands, came home to find her cat, Asrael, giving birth
• Asrael relocated and gave birth to five kittens on Ellen’s lap  
• Ellen documented the experience by uploading it to TikTok, where the video gained over 4.9 million views

A pregnant cat decided to give birth to her litter of kittens while sitting on her owner’s lap.

Ellen Fransen, 18, from Andijk, Netherlands, came home after visiting a friend only to discover her cat, Asrael, three, had started to go into labour.

Asrael had already given birth to one kitten before deciding to relocate and get comfortable on owner Ellen’s lap for the rest of the delivery.

Asrael the cat (above) gave birth on her owner Ellen’s lap prompting Ellen to video the experience and share it on the social media site TikTok garnering over 4.9 million views. 

Initially unsettled by the thought of her cat giving birth on her lap, but when Ellen tried to move Asrael onto some towels, Asrael would wail at her until she was let back onto Ellen’s lap. 

After two worry-filled hours, all five kittens were born – they’re doing well and still with mother Asrael.

Ellen decided to document the unique experience before uploading it to TikTok, where the video has now gained over 4.9 million views.

Ellen said, ‘Most reactions have been positive, some were negative, saying it’s not real or disgusting but I don’t really care… I think it’s an honour!’
