Three girls shot dead by AR-15-wielding dad in Sacramento church pictured as it's revealed mom feared for their safety

THREE girls who were killed by their AR-15 wielding dad in a church have been pictured as it's revealed their mom feared for their safety.

David Fidel Mora Rojas shot dead Samia Mora Gutierrez, 13, and her sisters Samantha 11, and Samarah, nine, in Sacramento, California, on Monday.

Nathaniel Kong, 59, who was chaperoning the girls on a supervised custody visit, was also murdered before the gunman turned the weapon on himself.

A memorial has been set up outside the church and a vigil was held following the shooting.

Mourners laid dolls, teddy bears, and flowers as they paid their respects.

The kids' aunt Jovana Venegas created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.

It emerged the girls' mother filed a domestic violence restraining order in May against her then-boyfriend Mora.

She warned he was "dangerous", adding that she moved out of the home due to safety concerns, according to Sacramento County court records cited by the Los Angeles Times.

The order, which remained in place until 2026, allowed the dad to see his children under Nathaniel's supervision.

Mora had to stay at least 100 yards away from her and their daughter except in supervised visits, court documents say.

She claims he choked her, pushed her, thrown things at her, and threatened to kill her.

The woman wrote in the court documents: “Due to respondent’s mental instability, I am asking that visitation with the children be supervised by my friend.”

Witness Yadira Ortega was with her two kids collecting a takeaway dinner when she heard gunfire, according to the Sacramento Bee.

She told the outlet that the shots sounded “sporadic”.

Ortega said: “I saw them carry one of the little girls out. They did CPR, I can’t say how long, but once I knew it wasn’t successful they covered her right away.”

The girls attended Bannon Creek Elementary School and Leroy Greene Academy in the Natomas Unified School District.

Students in the district have been offered emotional support and counseling.

The tragedy happened just days after Mora was arrested for resisting arrest, battery on a police officer, and driving under the influence.

Sheriff Scott Jones: “You don’t know what people are capable of.”

He added: “It’s very upsetting. There are a lot of ways this could have unfolded and obviously, it’s a tragedy, no matter how it unfolds.”

Connor Madsen, 21, was at his brother's house when he heard cops rush to the scene.

He told CapRadio: "We just had a kid. It sucks. You just took some young kids' lives that had the rest of their life to live, and now they can't."

Governor Gavin Newsom said: “Another senseless act of gun violence in America—this time in our backyard.

"In a church with kids inside. Absolutely devastating. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and their communities.”
