Villagers living in a sleepy UK village which played host to a massive sex festival last weekend complained to police about the noise coming from the event, it has been reported.

Hundreds of swingers attended a four-day Swingathon sex festival just off the A52, near the villages of Oasby and Aisby in Lincolnshire between Friday, July 2 and Monday, July 5.

Swingers can take part in wet t-shirt competitions, a mobile dungeon, and even have a go on the adult bouncy castles.

The local police force is said to have turned up to investigate the festival following complaints – but said it found no Covid breaches at all.

Despite some locals complaining, other villagers have said those attending the festival had just been "letting off steam" after what has been a "terrible time" for many during the coronavirus pandemic, LincolnshireLive reports.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson told the Grantham Journal: "We received reports of noise complaints, but on investigation there was nothing ongoing. We haven’t received any reports of Covid breaches."

A resident, who lives in Aisby and was only in the village for one night of the festival, said: "We were up North for a wedding so I had a dog sitter in and one of the neighbours rang me and said ‘what’s going on at your house? What are you doing?’ but it wasn’t us.

"We came home from our wedding and slept through it because I think the sound travels differently.

"I was a bit concerned it would cause the dogs to be anxious but it wasn’t like the thud, thud, thud when they had the rave at Ropsley.

"I giggled but I wasn’t affected by it – I find it hilarious.

"I would be the first to call the police if it was disturbing me but if it floats their boat then let them get on with it because we’ve been through such a terrible time."

Other residents in Aisby said they could hear the festival but it wasn’t particularly loud.

Another expressed surprise at how they managed to get everything onto the field.

The two fields where the festival was held were largely empty by Monday, July 5, when LincolnshireLive visited.

A couple of caravans could be seen along with some tents, glamping pods and rubbish in bins.

According to the event organiser’s website, the festival featured adult bouncy castles, a wet t-shirt competition, Linkin Park tribute band and a Mr and Miss Swingathon 2021 competition.

Guests were said to have stayed in four-person luxury yurts, accompanied by hot tubs and was only open to swingers who were verified on their Fabswingers profile.

The location was only revealed to ticket holders after they had booked.

Swingathon took place despite Government guidance saying only 30 guests are allowed for significant life events such as weddings and funerals in England.
