Prince Harry and Prince William’s fraught relationship has been laid bare in the latest three episodes of Netflix’s new documentary, Harry & Meghan.
Released on Netflix today (December 15), the Duke of Sussex has laid down a series of major claims about his brother, detailing alleged actions he took in the time running up to the creation of the show, including a moment when William had “scream[ed] and shout[ed]” at his younger brother.
Their relationship has been a key point of intrigue since the Megxit saga began, but now Harry’s claims could spell disaster for those hoping things between them were moving in the right direction, with promises allegedly broken, screaming fits and shifting loyalties.

Nothing showcases this clearer than the change in their two press teams.
"Dirty games"
In the fourth episode, Harry said he grew up watching the actions of royals’ communications teams in the “dirty game” of “constant briefings about other members of the family, about favours, inviting the press in.”
He explained this would see teams “leaking” and “planting” stories in “trades” to remove a “negative story about their principal” in exchange for “something about someone else’s principal.”
Harry claimed he and William had together pledged never to allow their respective offices to behave in the same manner.
But as media hype around the breakdown of the “fabulous four” erupted, Harry claimed William’s office worked to protect him by trading stories.
“I would rather get destroyed in the press than play along with this game or this business of trading.
'Childlike' Prince Harry fled UK to LA because he 'felt dismissed by insincere family'
“And to see my brother’s office copy the very same thing that we promised the two of us would never do, that was heartbreaking.”
This is a theme carried on in episode six.
The episode again discusses press teams’ efforts “try to outdo each other.”
In this context, the Sussexes are talking about William’s office and a senior aid of his, Jason Knauf, giving evidence in Meghan’s court case against Associated Newspapers.
Knauf was previously a member of the Sussexes before moving to his brother's team.
“A senior member of the Duke of Cambridge’s team came forward to give this witness statement which wasn’t required,” Jenny Afia, a partner of Shillings Law firm said.
Meghan then is heard saying: “He’s your brother. I am not going to say anything about your brother, but it is so obvious.”
Mystery text from William
The pain of the relationship is everywhere in the documentary.
In the same episode, Harry receives a mystery text from his brother after the Oprah Winfrey that causes Meghan to let out a “wow” and look concerned.
“I wish I knew what to do,” Harry says, to which Meghan replies: “I know. Let’s take a breather, get some air and then decide.”
But through all of the lawyers and long-distance tension, Harry also claims there had been terrible moments between them in person.
Harry was 'screamed' at by his brother
In episode 5, The Duke of Sussex says he was shouted at by his brother as they tried to negotiate a “half in half out” relationship for them in the Royal Family.
“It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father saying things that simply weren’t true, and my grandmother quietly sitting there and taking it all in,” he said.
But, in all the chaos of Megxit and the different views held by each side, Harry said the, “saddest part of it was the wedge created between myself and my brother so that he’s now on the institution’s side.”
He added that “part of it” he “gets” because it’s his “inheritance” and the desire to protect the institution is “ingrained”.
As the two brothers came together for the Queen at her funeral, the world held its breath in hope that it could be the start of things between them mending.
But now, as the documentary makes its sensational claims, those hopes have never seemed further off.
