Queen health latest as she rocks up to Chelsea Flower Show in ‘Queen-mobile’
The Queen has made a surprise appearance at Chelsea Flower Show today (May 23) and arrived in a posh chauffeur-driven golf buggy.
The monarch, 96, has been dogged by bouts of ill health which has made public appearances rare due to rumoured mobility problems.
But despite her curious mode of transport, the Queen was all smiles as she mingled with the public from the relative comfort of her plush set of wheels.
Responding to the unusual workaround, the Telegraph reports that Buckingham Palace was tightlipped.
A spokesman said: "Adjustments have been made for the Queen’s comfort.”
Reacting to the news on Twitter, most Royal fans were overjoyed that the Queen had found a way to attend the event.
One said: "A sensible and practical solution, looks like an upgrade to the ones down the golf course! Good to see, even a liveried driver."
Another said: "Love it! I love that she has a way to be able to participate!"
Many people said that the buggy was essentially a Royal "Queen-mobile".
One joked: "Yes! I’m so glad she is there in her queen mobile! It’s so much better than her not!!"
Another shrieked: "Is that like the Popemobile?!? @LandRover please, we need a Queenmobile!!"

Her triumphant appearance comes as fans learnt that Her Majesty has further scaled back on her Platinum Jubilee celebrations after dropping out of the official salute at the Trooping of the Colour parade.
Held every year to officially mark the Queen's birthday, this year's events take place on Thursday, June 2.
Normally The Queen would salute her personal troops – the Household Division – on Horse Guards Parade.
But this year, royal fans were shocked as it was announced that Prince Charles, Prince William and Princess Anne will be making the salute instead.
The trio will also ride on the parade as colonels of the Welsh Guards, the Irish Guards and the Blues and Royals.
