A popular pub has been slammed by a confused customer after they realised they could only get a Yorkshire pudding with their roast dinner if they paid an extra £1.50.
The Kicking Donkey in Ormskirk, Lancashire is a favourite with locals, but because of this, they don't have the "manpower to make a Yorkie for every meal".
The "classic" country pub, which is rated 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor, has been scrutinised by a shocked critic over their extra charge after they expected the item to be included in their roast.
And despite boasting a high rating, one reviewer was left particularly unconvinced and harshly gave the pub one-star after being "disgusted" by the add on, reports LancsLive.
They explained: "In all my life I have never been in a restaurant for a roast beef dinner and told it does not include a Yorkshire pudding it costs an extra £1.50 and if you want gravy with that it also costs an extra £1.50 totally disgusted we will never be going back there first visit never again."
User Matt F, who is marked as the owner at The Kicking Donkey, was quick to respond with an explanation.
He wrote: "Hi Steve. Sorry to have upset you so much. The reason we charge for Yorkies and extra gravy is that they're both homemade from scratch.
"This takes time and effort, we don't have the manpower to make a Yorkie for every meal, so we make a batch and when they're gone, they're gone."

He continued: "We charge for extra gravy because we put plenty on anyway, in the past, people have asked for extra and then it comes back untouched.
"I believe that the staff's work should be reflected in their pay, and so we do need to charge for things like this."
But this wasn't the only guest who was left unimpressed by the charge, as customer Larry, who visited a week ago, said he had an "overall poor experience".

Larry wrote: "Roast dinner was bland, hardly any taste – you want a Yorkshire pudding or more gravy, fine but you need to pay extra – dogs allowed in eating areas, not a great idea – so not for me, tried it but no more."
The pub owner responded with an apology and said they would have been happy to swap his meal or "knock something off" the bill – if concerns were raised at the time.
In response to the dog claims, they said: "I'm afraid it's a country pub, kind of goes with the turf."
