Princess Diana’s ex-butler claims Meghan Markle is ‘smothering’ Prince Harry
The former butler of Princess Diana has claimed that Meghan Markle is "smothering" husband Prince Harry after the pair were seen at a polo tournament.
Former royal butler Paul Burrell served the former Princess of Wales for a decade up until her death in 1997, with the recent pairing of Meghan and Harry making him "sad".
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been spotted at a polo match in California, where a body language expert has claimed Meghan was displaying "over-possessive and maternal" behaviour to her husband.
Expert Judi James said: "Meghan adopted 'command, control, steer' mode, placing both hands around Harry's face as they kissed."
Now Burrell, who served the Royal Family for years as a "best friend" to Diana, thinks the body language of Markle is concerning, although admits he was thrilled for the pair when they were first together.
Speaking of his change of heart to OK!, Burrell said: "I thought that Meghan was this breath of fresh air who would modernise the Royal Family and bring all the vital elements that were missing, but what kind of love is this?
"I feel that, from her body language at the polo, she came across as smothering."

The ex-butler continued: "I think Harry is totally besotted with her. He's given everything up. Of all the people I want to be happy, it's Harry.
"I think people have missed the fact he married a 36-year-old woman. That is very significant because his mother was 36 when she died. I think he was looking for someone mature to guide him.

"He wasn’t looking for a fling. I think he was looking for someone serious to put him back on the path he’d lost because his mother died. His heart broke and nobody could fix it until Meghan came along. Meghan fixed it."
Burrel also predicts that Harry will return to the UK at some point and reconcile with his brother, Prince William.
