Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have announced their baby girl will be called Sienna Elizabeth.

The princess gave birth at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London last Saturday.

Edoardo and Princess Beatrice confirmed the cute name of their first child together, the Queen's latest great-granddaughter, in a Palace statement.

While Sienna Elizabeth is Beatrice's first child, Edoardo is already a dad to son Christopher Woolf – nicknamed Wolfie – who Beatrice refers to as her "bonus son".

The proud parents revealed the name via the Royal Family's social media pages, sharing a beautiful footprint photo with the new baby's name written in beautiful handwriting below.

The message said: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have named their daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi."

A note from Sienna's parents followed which said: "We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna."

Sienna is the Queen's 12th great-grandchild and is 11th in line for the throne, just behind her mother Beatrice.

It is unlikely that the baby will be given a title by her majesty, as even Prince Harry and Meghan's children, Archie and Lilibet, were not granted one.

But she will still have a royal title – all down to her dad Edoardo, who is an Italian count.

The top 10 remains the same but due to the baby sitting in 11th place, below her mother Princess Beatrice, anybody previously in line goes down one place.

Those being knocked down a place include Beatrice's sister Princess Eugenie and her nephew August, Prince Edward, Viscount Severn, Lady Louise Windsor and Princess Anne.

Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, has now fallen out of the top 20.

Beatrice is the eldest daughter of the Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York, with the baby being the Yorks' second grandchild.

Beatrice and Edoardo first announced they were expecting a child together in May after they secretly wed in Windsor during lockdown in July 2020.

Bookies had Florence as the favourite name for the new arrival, with William Hill giving odds of 9/2, followed by Francesca, Matilda, Arabella and Giovanna.

The happy couple married in front of a small mix of guests, including the Queen, the late Prince Phillip and other close family members.

The Queen is said to have a close relationship with Beatrice and even loaned her several items for her wedding, including the dress and tiara.

The glamorous dress, which was designed by Norman Hartnell, was most notably worn by the Queen during the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia in 1962.
