Prince William ‘now throwing his weight around’ over Prince Andrew crisis
Prince William is said to be "throwing his weight around more" over Royal Family issues and the ongoing Prince Andrew crisis, royal commentators have said.
Reports indicate that the Duke of Cambridge was "so alarmed" at Andrew's participation in the Order of the Garter ceremony that he threatened to drop out of the ceremony if the Duke of York attended.
A royal expert has alleged that this is one clear example of the Prince throwing his weight around more than usual.
The comments come after Daily Star reported that both William and his father Prince Charles had lobbied against the return of Prince Andrew to a public, royal life.
But royal expert Richard Eden says the new tack from Prince William is a keen example of how the 39-year-old is "throwing his weight around more".
He said: "This was an example here he was saying 'enough is enough', no way am I going to be there. It would have been a terrible look, it's good, it's reassuring that William knows that and he knows how damaging that is."
It was said that the Royal Family made a "family decision" to limit Andrew's appearances at the Garter Day event to a behind-the-scenes lunch and investiture ceremony.

Another royal expert, Kate Mansey, has alleged the situation with Prince Andrew is more serious than that of Megxit.
Mansey said: "This is the modernisation of the monarchy in real time because here you've got your birthright, but for the first time you don't just have to be born into your HRH, this is a totally new thing, that you have to continue to deserve it.
"The Palace, the Queen, other senior royals, Charles and William are stepping in to protect the monarchy, saying 'no no, the monarchy is not something you're born into any more, this is a privilege and you have to deserve it'".
Andrew had been stripped of his royal roles in January by the Queen ahead of his legal settlement, The Mirror reported.
